The Miguel Contreras Foundation is dedicated to carrying on the vision and legacy of this extraordinary labor leader. The son of immigrant farm workers, Miguel’s work changed
the political landscape of Los Angeles and California. Now the foundation in his name will train the next generation of economic and social-justice leaders and ensure better
educational opportunities for tomorrow’s workers.

The foundation’s programs will specifically focus on underserved, low-wage, and immigrant communities and will work to foster stronger connections among them. The
three major areas of work will reflect Miguel’s lifelong values: educational access, which will include supporting the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex; civic participation; and Immigrant integration .

The Miguel Contreras Foundation is a nonprofit foundation launched by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor. UCLA Labor Center Director Kent Wong serves as the secretary of the board.
