Kent Wong receives the NEA’s 2017 Human and Civil Rights Award

We’re proud to announce that our very own director, Kent Wong, was awarded the 2017 National Education Association’s Human and Civil Rights Award earlier this month at the association’s annual awards dinner. This award, created in 1967, intends to honor human and civil rights leaders committed to create a more just society. The NEA believes, as did Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., that people of conscience, acting together, can achieve “justice for all.”  Each year, the NEA honors our past and rededicates itself to the unfinished task of creating a just society for the children and the young people they educate. We invite you to watch and share the NEA’s award video summarizing Kent Wong’s accomplishments and continued commitment to justice.
