For seventy years, the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) and the UCLA Labor Center have provided scholars, policymakers, labor and community leaders, and the general public with research-based analysis and education. With new leadership at the Institute and a dramatically changed national political environment, faculty and staff affiliated with IRLE joined forces to discuss and advance the strategic alignment of the IRLE and the UCLA Labor Center to chart a more collaborative and growth-enhancing path forward.

Building on a strong record of engagement with the diverse communities of Los Angeles, this report presents a three-year plan outlining how the IRLE and the UCLA Labor Center hope to expand instructional programs, deepen collaboration between faculty and research staff, effectively communicate activities across multiple media platforms, and build infrastructure for sustainable growth.
