The UCLA Labor Center is recruiting for DRC Research Coordinator – Healthy California

The Dream Resource Center believes that young people deserve the right to learn, be healthy and pursue their dreams – regardless of immigration status. Since its founding, the Dream Resource Center has emerged as a national source for innovative research, education, and policy on immigration issues.

The Research Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing leaders at the intersection of immigrant rights and health care access. The Research Project Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Dream Resource Center’s Health Ambassador fellowship program; as well as promote Health Ambassador to diverse stakeholders.

The Health Ambassador Fellowship will train and develop immigrant leaders as health advocates for undocumented Californians in the following regions: Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Sacramento, and the San Joaquin Valley. Health Ambassadors are experts in their region committed to addressing wellness through organizational partnership building and community engagement. Some of the goals of Health Ambassadors include the dissemination of health materials, creation of events that promote enrollment in the health care system, and educational advocacy on immigrant health issues. The coordinator will also support Dream Summer, with the recruitment, training, and ongoing mentorship of the Dream Summer participants, particularly those in the Healthy California cohort.

The coordinator will support the overall Labor Center’s and the Dream Resource Center’s organizational development and strategic goals. The coordinator will conduct immigrant health related research, policy work and fund-raising for the Dream Resource Center. They also will monitor existing grant deliverables and budgets, and prepare grant reports.
