Dwayne Jackson

Dwayne Jackson is a Program Manager with the UCLA CARE at Work program living in Los Angeles since 2017. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Dwayne joined the working class at the young age of 13 working for a neighborhood skating rink just 6 hours a week for two years. Since then, Dwayne has received his degree in human services from South Seattle College with an emphasis on youth development, social justice and community advocacy. Prior to his role at CARE at Work, he was contracted as Sr. Case Manager with the California Rent Relief Program focusing on helping families who were facing eviction find light at the end of the tunnel by helping them out of their housing crisis. Dwayne has also worked as a Community Coordinator for the City of Seattleā€™s Parks & Recreation as the liaison between the Parks Department, the Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI), the Seattle School District, the Seattle police department and a host of other organizations and nonprofits. In his spare time, you can catch him making delicious food or teaching community dance classes around the Los Angeles area.
