UCLA Labor Center, 675 S. Parkview St., Los Angeles, CA 90057.

Symposium Background:

We need more discussion on the networks and resources working families employ to navigate the educational system to support their public school learners. Through this symposium, parent workers and leaders in the K-12 community will have the opportunity to discuss the particular contributions and resources that parent workers bring to public schools and the unique strategies and models they apply for learner success. While parent workers face a host of challenges, we hope this dialogue will lead to an exchange of ideas and opportunities that can offer steps toward creative approaches and solutions grounded in working parents’ needs.
