Melissa Mooney

Native Angeleno, Melissa Mooney is a people-focused fundraiser with a passion for matching needs with individuals and funders who want to activate social change. Part of the field of higher education since 2007, Melissa transitioned from student development to fundraising early in her career. Having worked at Fordham University, where she earned her masters of art, Columbia Law, USC, Cedars-Sinai, and her alma mater, LMU, Melissa is dedicated to cultivating philanthropy that helps create the next generation of diverse leaders and supports equity and social justice in our world. As a first-generation student and the daughter of Central American immigrants, she knows firsthand the transformational power higher education offers.

Melissa oversees fundraising efforts for the UCLA Labor Center, partnering with Center leaders and community and external partners to successfully enhance resources for the Center which in turn develop research and influence policies that promote dignity in all. Melissa’s extensive experience allows her to deepen relationships with a strategic and thoughtful approach to continue raising support for the Center’s impactful mission.
