Dream Summer Silicon Valley Conference 2017

The Dream Resource Center, a project of the UCLA Labor Center will coordinate the Dream Summer Silicon Valley Conference. The conference will bring together Dream Summer fellows from the Silicon Valley cohort and aims to bridge the gap between community leaders, educators, and the philanthropic community to see how immigrant youth are working towards addressing the inequities that exist among the Silicon Valley’s wealthier residents and the immigrant labor that fuels the region’s economic engine. During the conference, participants will attend seminars on Diversity in Tech and Organizing, Creating Spaces for Immigrant Youth in Higher Education, and Rapid Response and Deportation Defense workshops. In its seventh year, Dream Summer Fellowship, the Dream Resource Center’s national leadership development program for immigrant youth and allies, trains and empowers the next generation of immigrant youth leaders.
