Vanessa is originally from Tijuana, Mexico and currently works as the digital communications coordinator for the UCLA Labor Center. Vanessa is passionate about social justice issues, particularly with regard to race and immigration. She has extensive multimedia and film experience and likes to work on projects that straddle both community issues and effective social outreach. Previously, Vanessa worked for American Federation of Teachers (AFT) – Local 1931, The Center on Policy Initiatives, California Common Cause, and American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). She graduated in 2016 with a major in International Development Studies and a minor in Labor and Workplace Studies at UCLA.
